The Farm-to-Cafeteria group is interested in creating Farm-to-Cafeteria programs in Colorado. The group formed in 2006, with members from Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, Denver Urban Gardens, the Colorado Farm Bureau, Colorado State University and the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture. We have two pilot food projects underway, one in a Denver school and one project district-wide in Manitou Springs, Dist. 14. As well, we've recently completed a study of school food needs in Colorado, which will help with production planning for fall semester produce deliveries. We plan to put more local produce into Colorado schools.
